Biography:

Dr Paul A. Fournier is a Lecturer in exercise biochemistry and physiology at the University of Western Australia, School of Sport Science, Exercise and Health. Dr Fournier has published over 20 referee articles in many scientific journals both nationally and internationally.

Dr Fournier is the State Representative of the WA branch of the Australian Society in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB). He is also a member of the Teaching Committee in Human Movement, Animal Users' Committee at UWA (Departmental Representative) and Equity Committee (Human Movement). He is also the Honours Adviser in Human Movement.

Dr Fournier is the 1996 Convenor of the Symposium "Metabolism; past, present and future: Toward an integrated view" at the ASBMB Congress, to be held in Canberra in September.

Dr Fournier was awarded the Alberta Foundation Post-Doctoral Fellowship in 1991, and both the Athelstan and Amy Saw Medical Research Fellowship (UWA) and Healy Postdoctoral Fellowship (UWA) in 1994.
