Biography:
Rebecca Braham is a lecturer in the School of Human Movement and Exercise Science, University of Western Australia (UWA). Rebecca was awarded a NHMRC and a VicHealth post-graduate research scholarship and completed her PhD at Monash University in Melbourne in the Department of Medicine. She was then offered a post -doctoral research fellowship at the Pennsylvania State University in the area of Athletic Training.
Rebecca's main research interests are in community health promotion, physical activity and prevention of injuries. She is currently involved in research looking at risk perception of athletes, risk factors for lower extremity injuries in athletes, malalignment and flexibility norms for Australian Football players and physical activity and children. She also has research interests in complementary medicine. Her honours project in the area of glucosamine supplementation (completed at UWA under the supervision of Brian Dawson and Carmel Goodman) was the most read paper of 2003 and the forth most read of 2004 in the British Journal of Sports Medicine.
