Biography:
Dr Scott Cresswell is a Post Doctoral Research Fellow within the School of Human Movement & Exercise Science at the University of Western Australia. He obtained his Doctor of Philosophy from UWA, a Masters degree in Physical Education from Otago University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Auckland University. Dr Cresswell has research interests in the areas of acute and chronic stress, coping, and athlete burnout. He has conducted a number of research projects for elite sport organisations including the New Zealand Rugby Union. Most recently, Dr Cresswell has been investigating the issue of player burnout for the Rugby Football Union, Professional Rugby Players Association and Premier Rugby Limited in England. He acts as reviewer for various academic periodicals including the Journal of Applied Sport Psychology, Journal of Applied Sport Psychology, Journal of Sport and Exercise Psychology, Psychology of Sport and Exercise, and The Sport Psychologist. Dr Cresswell has also consulted to a range of external sporting organisations, including Yachting New Zealand and the New Zealand Academy of Sport.
