Research Interests:
  • Exercise rehabilitation
  • Sports injury prevention

Medical Expertise:

Dr Fitch is the Department's Medical Consultant carrying out various procedures and providing guidance where a doctor's expertise is necessary in resarch projects and with patients in the Functional Rehabilitation Clinic. He has specific research interests in asthma and exercise and drugs generally in sport.

Dr Fitch, a member of the IOC Medical Commission, has been appointed as Chairperson of the Australian Olympic Committee's Medical Commission to oversee all Sports Medicine services for the Olympic Games in Sydney in the year 2000.
