CAT services

The Centre for Athletic testing (CAT) specialises in the assessment of fitness and physical performance.  Located within the School of Sport Science, Exercise & Health facilities include physiology laboratories, altitude and heat chamber, DEXA machine, strength and conditioning laboratory. 

Individual and group testing options available including lab-based, field-based and sport specific testing.  Tailored testing protocols can be designed and a service quote provided based on fitness outcomes of interest.

Services Include:

Athletic Testing

  • Aerobic Fitness (VO2 max, shuttle run & submaximal protocols)
  • Anaerobic Threshold (lactate and training zones)
  • Body composition and anthropometry (DEXA, skinfolds)
  • Sport specific multi-test protocols
  • Speed, agility and/or strength assessment

Corporate & Occupational Testing

  • Pre-employment screening
  • Workplace health assessments (incl. medical screening)
  • Occupational physical performance assessment

 

Staff from CAT can also provide advice on training programs, nutrition, supplements, environmental considerations (e.g. heat, altitude) and travel as required.

Sports psychology services and biomechanical (technique) analysis can also be coordinated through CAT.
