Personal items

Bicycles will be stored indoors in a locked room. Lockers are available in the change rooms.

Change rooms

Change rooms are adjacent to the pool and equipped with personal lockers.

Parking

Free parking is available either on the university ground (entrance number 3 and 4 from Parkway) or on the surrounding streets ( Parkway, Everett, Caporn).

Many participants may think they're not fit enough or in good enough shape for the camp.

Don't worry. Our Diabetes Fits is geared to all levels of fitness. Each exercise session will include coaching tailored from the beginner to the high-endurance athlete.

Most importantly, the primary goal is to learn how to better control blood glucose during and after exercise, not to be the best swimmer, cyclist or runner.

These activities are simply to provide a platform to test glucose management in a controlled setting.

Diabetes Fits pack

Diabetes Fits will provide you with a mesh bag containing:

  • duotang with lecture notes, articles, facilities map and pen
  • sponsor samples (such as snack bars, coupons)
  • water.

Set your own agenda

Not everyone is into swimming, biking and running so during each training sessions, so:

  • we will provide classes in the fitness centre, including proper technique, circuit and resistance training.
  • if you have an injury or do not like one of the sports, you can always sit in and learn or participate in the general fitness class.
  • if you want to do just one of the three legs, we can always form a relay team with likeminded people.
